Our client is a Manufacturing leader in off-road Electric Mobility vehicles.
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Procurement to lead purchasing and supplier development in Bengaluru. You will own end-to-end sourcing for our off-road electric mobility vehicles, building a robust supplier base for rugged mechanical components. You will drive cost-optimization, mitigate supply risks, and establish scalable procurement processes to support our rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for critical components.
- Map the domestic and global supplier landscape, lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, and negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and long-term supply contracts.
- Drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction initiatives, focusing on ZBC (Zero-Based Costing), Should-Cost analysis, and tooling investments.
- Partner closely with R&D and engineering teams during the prototype and DFx (Design for Manufacturing) stages to ensure parts are feasible and cost-effective.
- Perform risk assessments for single-sourced components and lead supplier audits to ensure compliance with automotive quality standards.
- Set up and manage ERP/MRP systems, track key functional metrics (KPIs), and manage the procurement budget.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team capable of scaling alongside the company's production targets.
Skills & Experience
- 10 to 15+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supply chain, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Industry
- Proven track record in the Electric Vehicle (EV), automotive, or heavy engineering sectors. Experience specifically with off-road, ruggedized, or custom mobility products is a distinct advantage.
- Deep understanding of Automotive, and mechanical commodities.
- Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills, coupled with proficiency in data analysis and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. An MBA or a specialized degree in Supply Chain Management or Operations is highly preferred.
